Denny Triangle Arcology
The Denny Triangle Arcology, colloquially just called The Sphere, is a massive geodesic sphere situated in the Denny Triangle neighborhood of downtown Seattle. Built pre-war as an experiment in high-tech 'networked living,' the Arcology survived the nuclear blasts and eventually came to serve as the headquarters of the New Altruists.
Construction and initial use
The Arcology was built of steel, concrete panels, and reinforced glass. The geodesic frame which encompasses the sphere rests on large rubberized pilings that allow the building to withstand shockwaves. The intent was to build a blast-resistant, self-sufficient habitat.
